Rewarding your child with treats and food is not a good way of showing your love. Using food as a reward reinforces your child to think food is a good way to cope with stress and other emotions. Therefore, they are conditioned to “eat away their feelings” instead of just eating for fuel.

So, instead of offering food as treats to your kids, praise them by giving them attention in other ways, such as hugs, verbal praise, kisses, etc.
